Non-farm payrolls increase 290,000 or is it really 36,000???

The Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) reported an increase of 290,000 jobs for the month of April. CNBC pointed out the contribuition of 66,000 from census workers however they left out the BLS (more BS than L) Birth/Death rate model that added 188,000. When one subtracts the census workers and the "made up" Birth/Death rate 188,000 we added 36,000 jobs. The Birth/Death rate model produced 81,000 in March so no one knows for sure how the BLS picked up an extra 100,000.

The "official, seasonally adjusted, manipulated, creatively calculated" unemployment rate came in at 9.9% up fro 9.7% in March. Underemploymnent is back to 17.1%. Steve Liesman was joyous and of course Christina "Aunt Bee" Romer made her usual jolly apprearance on CNBC.

Grandpa will address the BLS Birth/Death rate model in a separate post.
