60 Minutes-record number of children living in poverty and will soon hit 25%. 16 million kids living in poverty, an increase of 2 million over a two year period.

The government considers a family of four to be impoverished if they take in less than $22,000 a year. Based on that standard, and government projections of unemployment, it is estimated the poverty rate for kids in this country will soon hit 25 percent. Those children would be the largest American generation to be raised in hard times since the Great Depression.

Truly sad...this piece speaks volumes, no grandpa comments warranted..other than, good luck not wiping a tear from your eyes and make sure you give your kids and grandkids a great big bear hug.

"And when things get better again we know that there are still
