Jim Cramer: "What does Target care about Ireland?"

Cramer did not receive the memo that Target
is now a credit card company

11/18/10
NEW YORK (The Street) -- Investors need to see through the smokescreen of negativity, Jim Cramer told the viewers of his "Mad Money" TV show Thursday. He said those who took advantage of Tuesday's big selloff, profited handsomely today.

Cramer said Tuesday's market decline was spawned by concerns over debt in Ireland and a decline in oil prices. But in the fog of the panic, everything got taken lower, even stocks that have nothing to do with either. "What does Target (TGT) care about Ireland?" asked Cramer.

In reality, Tuesday was a fabulous day for Cramer's "FADS CAN" group of high- growth names. Cramer said between Tuesday's low and today's highs, the gains in the FADS CAN stock were remarkable:
  • F5 Networks (FFIV), up six points.
  • Apple (AAPL), an Action Alerts PLUS stock, up nine points.
  • Deckers (DECK), up three points.
  • Salesforce.com (CRM), up 15 points.
  • Amazon.com (AMZN), up seven points.
  • Netflix (NFLX), up eight points.
Only Chipotle Mexican Grill (CMG) was down this week, and Cramer said he'd be buying that one hand over fist.

Cramer encouraged viewers to always have a shopping list ready of stocks they'd like to buy. Then, when the market puts those stocks on sale, be ready to pounce. "See through the smoke," said Cramer, "and take advantage of the selloffs.

Chipotle Mexican Grill Stock Launches and trades at $.09 per mg of sodium and $1.11 per mg cholesterol

Chipotle Mexican Grill (a Jim Cramer favorite) beat the street for Q3 as they reported $1.52 per share versus the consensus estimate of Wall Street analysts of $1.31. At 2:50 CDT, CMG is up $26.75 to $206 per share.

CMG Website
"Food with Integrity" is our commitment to always look closer, dig deeper, and work harder to ensure that our actions are making things better, not worse. It’s our promise to run our business in a way that doesn’t exploit animals, people or the environment. It is the philosophy that guides every decision we make at Chipotle.

Grandpa commends CMG for their support of the local family owned farm and organic produce whenever practical.

Jim Cramer believes that Chipotle is the "best restaurant growth story out there" and. that the company should discuss the growing trend towards healthy eating during this week's earnings call. Jim Cramer touts CMG as a healthy alternative to fast food.

Chipotle's healthy alternative to fast food warrants some discussion unless of course Cramer deems fat, sodium and cholesterol levels irrelevant.

Grandpa pulled up Chipotle's Nutrition Calculator 2.0 and configured a basic burrito combination: CMG Calculator
  • 13" tortilla burrito
  • Rice, Black Beans and Chicken
  • Tomato Salsa and
  • Cheese, Sour Cream, Guacamole and Lettuce
Results
  • 1,125 total calories (470 from fat)
  • 51g total fat (78% Daily Value)
  • 20g saturated fat (98% Daily Value)
  • 185 mg of cholesterol (62% Daily Value)
  • 2,310 mg sodium (96% Daily Value)
At $206 per share, Chipotle Mexican Grill trades at $0.09 per mg of sodium, $0.18 per calorie, $1.11 per mg of cholesterol and $4.04 per gram of fat. A year ago today, CMG closed at $89.52 per share (bargain price of $1.76 per gram of fat).

Might a stock split be in the works as CMG really needs to reduce their cholesterol.
